Jeanne Marie Tripplehorn (born Jeanne Marie Tripplehorn) is an American actress who is active in television, film as well as theater. She has been a professional actor for over 27 years. She first made an appearance on stage in an off-Broadway production of The Big Funk by John Patrick Shanley in 1990. Her next role was her first role on television, The Perfect Tribute. In 1992, her acting career launched when she was cast as a character in the film Basic Instinct. It was in The Firm however that she was chosen as the woman leading the film for just the first time and that too opposite famous actors such as Tom Cruise and Gene Hackman. In the 90s Gwyneth collaborated alongside Hugh Grant on Mickey Blue Eyes as well as Julie Andrews for Relative Values. Recently, she was the character Dr. Alex Blake (a police procedural-crime drama) in Criminal Minds.
