The moment Jim as well as Sasha Allen were able to make it on The Voice Live Shows, they created history as Sasha was the first openly transgender contestant on the NBC competition series to advance past in the Battle Rounds in the entire 21 seasons. Sasha made the transition in highschool, and said that it was hard to openly reveal the vulnerability of his character to individuals. This past week, during fan week, seeing the people's support and their reactions and the way it affected them was worth it. The Voice wasn't even around when we played this song.
